What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin acetate is a synthetic peptide consisting of the first 29 amino acids of endogenous GHRH — the biologically active fragment responsible for pituitary GH stimulation. It is the most extensively clinically studied GHRH analogue in existence, with decades of human clinical data from its approved use as a diagnostic tool and experimental therapeutic.

Unlike CJC-1295, Sermorelin is the direct N-terminal fragment of native GHRH rather than a modified analogue — making it the most physiologically representative GHRH compound available for research.

Mechanism of Action

Sermorelin binds GHRH receptors on anterior pituitary cells with essentially identical affinity to native GHRH. The receptor binding stimulates adenylyl cyclase via Gs proteins, increasing intracellular cAMP and PKA activity — ultimately driving GH gene transcription and secretion.

Because it is the natural GHRH sequence, Sermorelin maintains full physiological GHRH receptor binding without the receptor conformation alterations that can occur with modified analogues.
